Getting to Pemako Punakha begins with an enchanting prelude. With no direct road access, my butler Nardhoj met me at the carpark on the opposite side of the Mo Chhu River to help me with my luggage. We crossed a suspension bridge adorned with fluttering prayer flags and the subtle sway of the bridge brought a soothing sense of calm.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Pemako’s resident Lama (monk), who performed a traditional Buddhist blessing in a prayer room, bestowing good fortune and serenity.

Complementing the spa’s offerings is a stunning yoga pavilion where guests can practice yoga independently at any time of the day, or experience Sorig yoga, a discipline intertwined with Bhutanese spiritual traditions, with guidance from a doctor trained in traditional medicine.
