Dusit Princess Melaka is the ideal base to explore Melaka’s historic sites and vibrant food scene. And I had loads of stunning photos captured with my HONOR Magic7 Pro.
When we stepped into the hotel lobby, we immediately felt a comforting sense of homeliness. Right away, the front desk staff demonstrated exceptional service standards. They greeted us with a refreshing, uniquely local treat — a chilled corn beverage. They also offered an assortment of local cakes, giving us a delightful first taste of Melaka’s rich culinary heritage.
Thoughtfully placed mirrors and rich wood accents in the lobby amplify the sense of openness and depth. Complementing this, the impressive twin chandeliers (the largest in the state) add a refined touch of sophistication.

First Impressions
Check-in was a breeze, and the staff greeted us with the kind of warm hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home. I noticed traditional motifs woven into the carpets and even in the lighting and wall art — a subtle nod to Melaka’s rich, multicultural past.
But the real “wow” moment came when we opened the door to our room. The view from the room was stunning. We had unblocked views of Melaka City and the Strait of Melaka beyond.

From our room window, we had a stunning view of sleek high-rises and charming red-roofed heritage buildings. And beyond the city, we could even see ships and boats docked in the sea. It was a beautiful reminder of Melaka’s unique blend of history and seaside calm.

Dusit Princess Melaka: A New Chapter in Malaysian Hospitality
Dusit Hotel Group transformed the former Ramada Plaza Melaka into Dusit Princess Melaka, bringing its signature Thai hospitality to this vibrant city. This marks Dusit’s exciting first property in Malaysia, blending extensive renovations with their well-known warmth and attention to detail.
Flexibility for Every Traveller
Dusit Princess Melaka has 296 rooms to suit every guest—from Deluxe and Premier Rooms with city or sea views to Dusit Club Rooms with lounge access and the luxurious Presidential Suite.
Need more space? Junior and One-Bedroom Suites come with separate living areas. Overall, the hotel’s amenities cater to both business travellers and families seeking comfort and convenience.
Dusit Club Executive Room
We stayed in a Dusit Club Executive room. The 37 sqm room had a cozy sofa and workspace. The bathroom was a highlight—spacious enough to include both a bathtub and a rain shower, making it easy to freshen up or soak away the day’s adventures. It felt like a real home base in the heart of Melaka. In-room amenities include a Nespresso machine with daily replenished capsules and a complimentary mini bar with soft drinks.
Club Lounge
Located on the 24th floor, the Dusit Princess Club Lounge offers an elevated experience that feels like a world apart from the bustling city below. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, the lounge features a variety of seating areas.

The Club Lounge offers coffee, tea, and light bites throughout the day, making it a perfect retreat high above the city. Then, during cocktail hour from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, enjoy house wines or your favourite cocktail paired with hors d’oeuvres. One highlight for me was the traditional Rainbow Kueh Lapis — a sweet treat worth savoring!

The hotel’s outdoor pool is touted as the deepest in Melaka, and is a chill spot for panoramic city views. With comfy loungers all around, it feels like a little resort—perfect for kicking back, hanging out, or watching the sunset.

Equipped for all-around well-being, the hotel has a spacious 24-hour fitness centre. It features cardio machines, free weights, and resistance equipment. Combine the high-tech gym equipment with stunning views of the city, definitely a motivator to get on the treadmill after a day of indulgence!
Steps away from the gym is the steam room, located in both the male and female toilets on the same floor as the gym. Whether you want to detox or just enjoy some quiet time, the steam room adds a lovely touch of wellness to your stay.
Zest Restaurant and Deli
Foodies will love Dusit Princess Melaka. For starters, I was a regular during my stay at Zest, their all-day dining restaurant. The breakfast buffet was a generous mix of local Malaysian favourites with international fare, satisfying every craving.
I particularly enjoyed the live station for noodles where you can pick your ingredients and choose between tom yum soup or chicken broth. The staff also went the extra mile, coming up to our table to serve us freshly prepared dishes like Kaya Toast and Fried Char Kway Teow.
On weekends (Friday & Saturday) 6.30pm to 10.30pm, the hotel has a Gemilang Grill & Seafood Buffet. Priced at RM 158 Nett / Adult, Senior Citizens aged 60 years and above, there is a 25% discount and children below 12 years old dine at half price.
They’ve got live stations serving up grilled meats plus a pasta counter where you can pick your favourite ingredients and have it cooked just the way you like.

For August & September 2025, diners can celebrate the vibrant flavours of Malaysia at Zest with a Rasa Malam semi buffet from Sunday to Thursday at just RM 48 nett.

For a quick bite between sightseeing, Zest Deli serves sandwiches and salads alongside sweets and pastries. Although I confess, there was just too much to enjoy just at the hotel doorstep!
Long Feng Chinese Restaurant
Long Feng, the hotel’s Chinese restaurant on Level 2 is well-known for its halal-friendly dim sum and wide selection of premium teas. We tried the Aged Pu-Erh with Calamansi which had a tinge of zesty citrus notes.

Don’t miss their house specialty—the Traditional Double-boiled Ginseng Chicken Soup with Sun-Dried Scallop. Additionally, their classic delicacy, the Marble Goby (Soon Hock Fish), and the Yin Yang Vegetable Dish (Hong Kong Kale served two ways) come highly recommended. Check out their a-la-carte menu here.

If you’re looking to chill out in the evening, Famosa Lounge is the place to be. Kick back with a tasty selection of afternoon teas, light snacks, or refreshing cocktails in a cozy, stylish vibe. Plus, on weekends, you can enjoy live entertainment that makes it even easier to relax and soak up good times with friends.

Neighbourhood Foodie Finds
Dusit Princess Melaka is steps away from all the amazing foodie finds. The closest coffeeshop is Mei Sin Cafe, located at the end of the same street (Lorong Bendahara). In the morning, you can find different stalls serving up fishball or wanton noodles, Nyonya laksa and popiah.

Later in the evening, the scene changes as two stalls open up outside —one selling sweet and savoury doughsticks (youtiao) and fried noodles (Char Kway Teow).
And just on the main street (Jalan Munshi Abdullah) in front of the hotel, is the ever-popular Bunga Raya Popiah. Formerly located in a street-side stall outside Madam King’s Mall along Jalan Bunga Raya, the stall has moved to a more permanent location since November 2024.

Jalan Bunga Raya is a lively street that’s always buzzing. Colourful old buildings line the road, giving it plenty of charm, while the mix of traditional eateries, modern cafés, and quirky shops means there’s always something to check out.
You can browse for souvenirs, fill up your stomach with local specialties or just wander around and take in the atmosphere. This is the best neighbourhood to feel the heartbeat of Malacca.

And a special find on this trip was Ah Lan Hainanese Satay, just a 3-minute walk from the hotel on the way to The Shore Shopping Gallery. Their sauce is a special blend of peanut and pineapple
Malacca: A UNESCO Heritage City
Malacca (or Melaka) is a UNESCO World Heritage City that’s as rich in history as it is in flavour.

Known for its vibrant streets, colonial architecture, and bustling markets, the town is compact and walkable. We fell in love with Malacca’s laid-back charm and spent our afternoons visiting cosy cafes. In the evenings, we would find ourselves meandering toward Jonker Street, which comes alive with its famous weekend night market.
Don’t miss taking a scenic walk to the Hang Tuah Bridge spanning across the Melaka River. Connecting the historic Bandar Hilir district and Melaka Raya, the bridge is named after the legendary Malay warrior, Hang Tuah, a 15th-century Malay warrior and admiral known for his patriotism to the Malacca Sultanate.
